Wesley Husted (father) November 18, 1882 Effie Gearhart Husted (mother) Jean, Miriam, Alda, Clarabelle (sisters) Albert, Kenneth (corporal during ww2) (brothers) He was raised in West Decatur, a city known as the Blue Ball because the Blue ball express stopped near the city. 3 years of study in the high school of philipsburg High school. (High school which still exists). He practiced wrestling in high school, he was a good student, first in his class and excellent in math. He worked on the family farm located at Morgan Run Road located 4km from West Decatur and intended to join the navy after graduation. They called him Wes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Company H landed at H + 30 minutes Dog Green OMAHA BEACH the objective in this morning of 06.06.1944 is to reinforce company F which landed at H +01 on her arrival on the beach she did not manage to find the company F of the 116 th infantry regiment the detachment was made up of 38 men who first landed 2 LCA there was also a section of machine guns and a section of mortars after staying 3 to 4 hours on the beach, company H moved towards the hospital which was installed by the 16th infantry regiment thereafter Company H mingled with soldiers of the 16th infantry regiment. the men started moving towards the hills surrounding in order to progress inland .. Company H participated in the attack on the machine gun nests which defended the heights | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
