The Bf110 crashed south of Avesnes-sur-Helpe at Wigneghies.
Shot down by a Messerschmitt Bf110 -

explodes in flight – the crew is buried on July 11

Killed flying 106 Squadron Lancaster III ED720 ZN-R on operation to Köln with RAF but serving with USAAF.
