STORY

The 67th Field Artillery Battalion is activated on April 15, 1941 at Camp Beauregard LOUISIANA.

The 3rd Armored Division lands on Omaha Beach on June 24, 1944.

On June 25, 1944 the unit regroups in order to participate in the liberation of France.

The enemy lines are in the area of St Jean de Daye.

On June 27, 1944 the battalion was bribed on its first attack, the combat Command A of the 3rd armored division is assigned to the area of Villiers Fossard.

On June 28, 1944 the battalion moved one mile south of St Clair on Elle.

On June 29, 1944 the offensive must begin at 9:00.

At 06:30 Robert embarks in 1/4 ton truck on board there is the Gerald J. MAASEN PVT -37126382- the 5th grade Technician Walter S. MULLINAX -34179278-

Their mission is to install a telephone line between infantry and artillery.

Their vehicle jumps on a mine on a south west road (2miles) from St Clair sur Elle.

Robert died as a result of the mine explosion but Walter and Gerald are seriously injured.
