STORY

They are both graduates of the Rostraver TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL

They are both engaged in the Army Ait Force Mars 18, 1943 later they transferred to the infantry

Glenn and Jack were employed in Pittsburgh Steel Company as of June 4, 1942 in the same department

Letter from Glenn wrote to his parents announcing that they had indeed received their letter dated 24 November 1944 they went into town and had been to church that morning

Their mother Dorothy died April 13, 1996, she had no heir.

She had kept many souvenirs: items, pictures Glenn and Jack

All that she owned was given to the First Christian Church in Fayette City

His house became a rectory.

Part of the money funded a multi-purpose building of the Church

The church gave $ 5,000 to build the monument commemorating the victims of the Leopoldville National Infantry Museum at Fort Benning, was inaugurated on November 7, 1997.

Glenn and Jack goods were handed over to the same museum.

Arrived on November 26th, 1944 in England, the division polishes up its training until December 24th

In the daytime of the departure and the crossing towards France and Normandy.

The division embarks on two ships of which the SS Leopoldville which receives 262th and 264th regiment Infantry and leaves Southampton in training(formation) accompanied with four escort ships.

Arrived unless 5 miles from Cherbourg, a German submarine U-Boat 486 is in ambush and sends a torpedo to the ship.

He is touched on the starboard beam before.

802 soldiers over the 2235 which he(it) transported are killed in this drama.

Leopoldville is marine cemetery today.
