STORY
 bott louis v 1Pfc. Louis V. Bott, 35, of Nuremberg, was killed in action in France on September 17 according to word received by his family. A member of the 29th Division, he took part in the D-Day invasion and fought in all the major battles which followed. He had recently received the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Infantryman's badge.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bott Sr., he was employed at Bott's Market Nuremberg, prior to enlisting in the Army in March, 1942. He trained at Fort Meade, Maryland; Camp A.P. Hill, Virginia; Camp Blanding, Florida; and Camp Kilmer, N.J., before going to England in September 1942.
Many region boys served in the same division with him and several including Pvt. Lindsay Rowland, of Freeland, were wounded previously.
Pfc. Bott was a graduate of the Nuremberg High School, a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Nuremberg, and of the Hazleton aerie, F.O. Eagles.
His father died two years ago and his mother passed away several years previously.
Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Sgt. Victor Bott, Fort Meade, Md.; Fireman 1/c Frank Bott, on sea duty with the Navy, John, Josephine and Rose, at home; Angelo, of Nuremberg; Marie, a registered nurse at Kings County Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. Lawrence Schmidt, Audubon, N.J.; Joseph Jr.; Mrs. Peter McCormick and Mrs. Frank Catanach, all of Philadelphia.
