Graduated from Stilwell High School The purple heart of clarence was found in a lot of jewelry on the Arizona flea market, the medal was bought by a veteran of the Vietnam War who found it strange that we could sell this type of medal. The name of Clarence MERRIOTT being engraved on the back, he was looking for information from his owner. With his son, they began researching the internet. They found Clarence at the 300th engineer combat battalion.
Thanks to the help of several people, they found a picture of Clarence. This picture was in a sealed box.
With all these clues they communicated with Clarence's grandson. He explained that the medal had been given to Clarence's sister. His name was Haleen. She gave the medal to her son. he further explained that this medal was lost in a move, the grandson of Clarence preferred that the medal be exhibited in a museum ........ it is located at "The Adair County Historical Association Museum in Stilwell" |
